Position Overview
The System Technician supports reliable operation across audio, video, control, communications, power, and networked production systems. This role follows system plans, configures devices, verifies connectivity and redundancy, monitors performance, documents settings, and helps department leads isolate complex faults quickly.
What you will do
- Build and verify integrated production systems from approved diagrams and scopes.
- Configure addressing, networking, synchronization, control, and monitoring as assigned.
- Test signal paths, redundancy, communications, and system health before show time.
- Troubleshoot cross-department technical issues methodically.
- Document configurations, changes, faults, and final operating status.
What we are looking for
- Broad understanding of professional AV signal flow, networking, control, and power.
- Strong diagnostic process and ability to interpret technical documentation.
- Experience with managed switches, IP addressing, system monitoring, and common AV protocols.
- Clear communication across audio, video, lighting, and production teams.
- Reliable preparation and calm response under show pressure.
Work Arrangement
This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
