Position Overview
The Production Rigger installs and removes overhead and ground-supported production systems according to approved plans, manufacturer guidance, venue rules, and applicable standards. This role evaluates conditions, prepares equipment, makes connections, operates approved lifting systems, communicates hazards, and stops work when safety requirements are not met.
What you will do
- Review rigging plots, loads, points, access, equipment, and rescue considerations.
- Inspect and deploy truss, motors, hardware, spansets, steel, and approved fall protection.
- Complete bridles and connections within training, authorization, and project requirements.
- Coordinate lifts with department leads and maintain clear exclusion zones.
- Inspect, document, and quarantine damaged or questionable equipment.
What we are looking for
- Documented entertainment-rigging experience and recognized training or certifications.
- Strong knowledge of rigging hardware, load paths, inspection, communication, and fall protection.
- Ability to read plots and work safely at height when properly authorized.
- Excellent judgment and willingness to stop unsafe work.
- Physical ability and availability for demanding event schedules.
Work Arrangement
This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
