DJ

Position Overview

The DJ creates an appropriate, energetic, and polished music experience based on the client brief, audience, schedule, and venue. This role prepares music libraries and backups, operates DJ and audio equipment, makes or supports announcements when required, coordinates with producers and venue staff, and adapts professionally throughout the event.

What you will do

• Prepare event-specific music programming, requests, edits, and backup media.
• Set up, test, operate, and strike DJ, playback, and assigned audio equipment.
• Mix cleanly and manage energy, timing, transitions, and appropriate volume.
• Coordinate announcements, special moments, and schedule changes with the event team.
• Maintain professional presentation and respectful audience interaction.

What we are looking for

• Demonstrated event DJ experience and a broad, organized music library.
• Strong beat matching, transitions, programming judgment, and microphone confidence.
• Reliable professional equipment and backup practices when required.
• Excellent client service and the ability to read diverse audiences.
• Punctuality, flexible scheduling, and calm problem-solving.

Work Arrangement

This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
