Position Overview
The Console Technician keeps SGES mixing systems show-ready in the shop and on site. This role loads and verifies software, configures I/O and networking, tests surfaces and stage boxes, manages files and backups, performs preventative maintenance, and helps engineers resolve console-related issues during setup and operation.
What you will do
- Inspect, configure, update, test, and document audio consoles and related I/O.
- Build and verify console files, routing, networking, user layers, and backups.
- Diagnose surface, stage-box, network, clocking, and control issues.
- Prepare complete console packages for rentals and productions.
- Maintain accurate service notes, accessories, cases, and firmware records.
What we are looking for
- Strong familiarity with professional digital audio consoles and networked I/O.
- Understanding of signal flow, clocking, control networks, software, and file management.
- Careful diagnostic habits and component-level awareness.
- Ability to support engineers and clients with clear, patient communication.
- Experience with major console platforms is strongly preferred.
Work Arrangement
This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
