Interns learn directly from experienced professionals while supporting real productions in supervised environments.

About the Internship Program

This learning-focused program combines structured instruction, hands-on labs, equipment preparation, and supervised field experience. It is designed to build strong technical foundations, professional work habits, confidence, and a practical understanding of how the audiovisual and live-events industry operates.

Previous professional experience is not required. We are looking for motivated students who are curious, reliable, ready to learn, and interested in turning their creativity or technical interests into career skills.

Internship Training Tracks

Live Audio

Learn equipment preparation, microphones, speakers, wireless systems, mixing consoles, cabling, basic signal flow, soundcheck support, and system strike procedures.

Video and Broadcast

Explore cameras, displays, projectors, video switching, streaming, presentation systems, signal testing, and supervised production workflows.

Lighting

Learn about fixtures, control systems, data and power cabling, safe placement, basic programming concepts, testing, and show-site organization.

Event Production and Staging

Build experience with equipment logistics, load-in, setup, cable management, backstage procedures, production documentation, teamwork, and strike.

What You Will Do

• Assist with preparing, organizing, testing, and labeling production equipment.
• Support supervised load-ins, setups, rehearsals, event operations, strikes, and returns.
• Help run and secure audio, video, lighting, data, and power cables.
• Observe system configuration, signal testing, soundchecks, and technical rehearsals.
• Maintain organized work areas, cases, cables, accessories, and documentation.
• Help inspect and return equipment to show-ready condition after assignments.
• Follow company, venue, equipment, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Participate in training, demonstrations, production meetings, and feedback sessions.

How the Internship Works

2. Onboarding and safety training covering professional expectations and safe production practices.
3. Instruction and hands-on labs introducing equipment, terminology, signal flow, and workflows.
4. Live event support under supervision based on readiness, scheduling, and production needs.

Schedule, Credit, and Development

This is an active, part-time and project-based internship based in Hartford, Connecticut, with supervised assignments at regional event locations. Scheduling varies by training activity and production assignment. School commitments will be discussed during the placement process.

Academic credit may be available when arranged with the student’s school. Program duration, compensation arrangements, credit requirements, and scheduling expectations will be confirmed with selected applicants before participation begins.

Participation does not guarantee future employment. Successful interns may be considered for future entry-level, freelance, or project-based opportunities when available.
