Position Overview
The A1 is the lead audio engineer responsible for translating production requirements into a polished audience or performer experience. This role advances the show, oversees system deployment, manages consoles and signal flow, leads soundcheck, troubleshoots under pressure, and communicates clearly with clients, producers, artists, and the audio crew.
What you will do
- Advance audio requirements and prepare console files, inputs, outputs, and patch plans.
- Lead PA deployment, tuning, soundcheck, show operation, and strike.
- Operate FOH or monitor consoles and maintain clean, reliable signal flow.
- Direct A2 and A3 technicians while coordinating with other departments.
- Document issues and return equipment in show-ready condition.
What we are looking for
- Professional experience mixing live corporate, concert, nonprofit, or community events.
- Strong command of digital consoles, wireless systems, networking, and system processing.
- Calm troubleshooting and clear client-facing communication.
- Ability to lift production equipment and work flexible event schedules.
- Commitment to safe work practices and dependable follow-through.
Work Arrangement
This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
