Position Overview
The Level 2 AV Installer executes commercial AV installations from approved drawings and scopes. This role mounts and connects systems, builds racks, completes terminations, verifies signal flow, troubleshoots field issues, updates redlines, coordinates with other trades, and provides practical guidance to Level 1 installers.
What you will do
- Interpret drawings, scopes, elevations, rack layouts, and cable schedules.
- Install and connect displays, speakers, cameras, control devices, racks, and networked AV equipment.
- Complete professional terminations, labeling, testing, and commissioning support.
- Troubleshoot installation faults and document field changes clearly.
- Guide junior installers while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated commercial AV installation experience and strong low-voltage workmanship.
- Ability to read technical drawings and test audio, video, control, and network connections.
- Experience with rack fabrication, terminations, mounting systems, and field documentation.
- Professional coordination with clients, general contractors, and other trades.
- Valid safety training or industry certifications are valued.
Work Arrangement
This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
