Audio Engineer – A3

Position Overview

The A3 is an entry-level audio technician who supports the audio department before, during, and after events. This role prepares equipment, runs and dresses cable, assists with speaker and microphone placement, labels and tests signal paths, maintains clean work areas, and builds the practical experience needed to progress into A2 responsibilities.

What you will do

• Prepare, label, test, and transport audio equipment and cable packages.
• Assist with speaker placement, microphone setup, cable runs, and stage patching.
• Maintain safe, clean backstage and front-of-house work areas.
• Follow direction during rehearsals, show operation, and strike.
• Report damaged or missing equipment promptly.

What we are looking for

• Basic understanding of live audio or strong interest in learning the field.
• Ability to follow instructions, stay organized, and work safely around active equipment.
• Reliable transportation and availability for event schedules.
• Ability to lift and move production equipment with proper technique.
• Professional conduct and respect for clients, venues, and teammates.

Work Arrangement

This is an active, project-based opportunity with Sound Guyz Event Solutions, Inc., based in Hartford, CT. Assignments support events throughout Connecticut and regional markets. Scheduling, travel, and project details vary by assignment and may include evenings, weekends, load-in, show operation, and strike.
